United Nations lauds Nigeria on Peace Keeping |

Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Joy Ogwu, visited the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ogbonnanya Onovo on Thursday at FCT Police Command Headquarters, Abuja, Nigeria, to express the United Nations appreciation of Nigeria’s role in global peace keeping operations.
Ambassador Joy Ogwu informed the Inspector General of Police that the Permanent Mission of Nigeria in New York plans to organize a month long photo exhibition of Nigerian peace keeping operations, at the UN headquarters, to highlight Nigeria’s contributions to global peace and security. The exhibition will be held as part of the activites marking the 50th independence anniversary of Nigeria. Ambassador Ogwu said ” The heroism of our peace keepers remains one of our strongest international credentials and must be safe guarded."
Inspector General Ogbonnanya Onovo thanked Ambassador Joy Ogwu for the visit and said, the Nigerian Police are fully prepared to play a leading role in global peace keeping.
